  1. Munchkin Critical Role Release Date: September
Whilst the specifics for Munchkin Critical Role are scarce, the game is expected to be a strong seller based off the history of both franchises. Munchkin won the Origins Award for Best Traditional Card Game in 2001 and has since had over 100 variants, expansions, and themed games published. The Op Games (formally USAopoly) are one of the publishers responsible for a range of successful licence themed Munchkin variants, including Marvel, Rick and Morty, and Harry Potter. They will continue this trend, bringing the popular Dungeons & Dragons role playing group Critical Role, and their world of Exandria, to life. Created by voice actor Matthew Mercer, Critical Role managed to raise $11m last year on Kickstarter to fund an animated series, which will be streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime. Munchkin Critical Role will release during September 2020. Learn More

  2. Smash Up Marvel Release Date: September
September 2020 will be a big month for crossover titles published by The Op Games (formally USAopoly). After the successful combination of the Marvel universe with both Munchkin and Codenames, they are back at it again with the upcoming title, Smash Up Marvel. Marvel is well-known for its superheroes, including Spider-Man, Iron Man and Captain America, and superhero teams such as the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and the Guardians of the Galaxy, a great fit for AEG’s award-winning flagship game! Both Marvel and Smash up have a history of selling well, and we see no reason why Smash Up Marvel won’t achieve similar results. Learn More

  3. D&D Explorers Guide to Wildemount Release Date: 17.03.2020
D&D Explorers Guide to Wildemount is the first D&D book of 2020, releasing on the 17th of March, which is great because in 2019 the first D&D book for the year, Ghosts of Saltmarsh, didn’t release until May! D&D Explorers Guide to Wildemount is a campaign setting for the world of Exandria. The book has been largely written by Matthew Mercer, the Dungeon Master of Critical Role and creator of the world of Exandria. This is the first official D&D book to come from Critical Role, although they did release the “Critical Role Tal Dorei Campaign Setting” through Green Ronin Publishing a couple of years ago. In 2019 Critical Role raised $11m on Kickstarter to fund an animated series, which will be streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime; the groups popularity is at an all time high and we expect their first D&D book to sell strongly. 4. D&D Forgotten Realms Laeral Silverhand’s Explorers Kit Release Date: 17.03.2020
D&D Forgotten Realms Laeral Silverhands’s Explorers Kit releases on the same day as D&D Explorers Guide to Wildemount, the 17th of March. If you sell D&D, then you probably sell a whole bunch of dice. What’s weird is that up until now, there hasn’t been many opportunities to sell official “D&D” dice! There’s been a couple of official dice sets released with D&D books, but there hasn’t been a generic, evergreen official D&D dice set. Laeral Silverhands’s Explorers Kit is meant to be exactly that, a high quality, official, D&D dice set. In addition to the dice set, you also get a felt lined dice tray and twenty double sided lore cards, detailing key characters and locations from Faerun’s Sword Coast (the most popular and the best D&D campaign setting). We’re expecting to sell this one in an ongoing way (in the same way that the official DM screen just keeps on selling). Learn More

  5. Fallout Shelter Release Date: Feb 2020
Fallout Shelter is a worker placement board game based on the hit mobile game in the Fallout universe from Bethesda Softworks. There’s no confirmed release date yet…but it can’t be far off as inventory has already arrived at the Let’s Play Games warehouse! The previous Fallout games from Fantasy Flight Games have all been strong sellers and we see no reason why Fallout Shelter won’t follow that pattern. Learn More
